Wyoming

Wyoming became the 24th state to legalize online sports betting when Governor Mark Gordon signed House Bill 133 into law on April 5, 2021. The Wyoming Gaming Commission was tasked with regulating the industry. They began accepting applications from companies interested in operating sportsbooks in the state on May 1, 2021.

The first online sportsbook launched in Wyoming on September 1, 2021. There were four operators that were initially licensed to offer online sports betting in the state, and they remain the only four operators currently. They are BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars.

The industry has been a moderate success for the state with the industry generating over $100 million in revenue and $25 million in tax revenue for the state. However, the future looks bright for online sports betting in Wyoming. The state is expected to continue to see growth in the industry, and the Wyoming Gaming Commission is working to expand the number of sportsbooks available in the state. They are also fighting against a smaller population of sports fans than states with multiple professional sports teams. This provides a smaller pool of potential customers for online sportsbooks.

You must be 21 years or older in order to bet on sports in the state of Wyoming.
