Connecticut

Online sports betting has only been around in Connecticut for a short time. In May 2021, the Governor of Connecticut Ned Lamont signed a bill into law that legalized both online and in-person sports betting. On October 19, 2021 the law took effect.

Sports betting is only available to Connecticut residents who are 21 years of age or older. The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) governs and regulates the rules for sports betting in the state and ensures that all sportsbooks are operating fairly and honestly.

Three online sportsbooks have launched since the legalization: FanDuel, SugarHouse, and DraftKings. Since the legalization of online sports betting, the Connecticut market has continued to grow with over $150 million generated in revenue. The hope is for more sportsbooks to enter the market as it continues to grow, allowing better odds and more options for Connecticut residents when placing their bets.
