Arizona

In April 2021, the Governor of Arizona Dough Ducey signed into law House Bill 2772, which legalized both online and in-person sports betting in the state. Since the law took effect on September 9, 2021, licenses have been granted by the Arizona Department of Gaming (AZDGC) to 17 different sportsbooks.

BetMGM was the first online sportsbook in Arizona and launched on September 9. Since then, sportsbooks such as FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars, BetRivers, and others have been added to the state.

In the first four months of operation, Arizona sportsbooks reported $1.75 billion in wagers, which made Arizona the third-largest sports betting market in the United States, behind Nevada and New Jersey.

One of the main factors that have contributed to the success of Arizona’s sports betting market is that it has a favorable regulatory environment, which has made it easier for sportsbooks to operate in the state.

You must be 21 years of age or older in order to bet on sports in the state of Arizona, and you must also be within state lines.
